The Bible speaks a lot about rewards. God may give some rewards and/or blessings while we serve Him here on earth, but most often, they are spoken of as being received after this life.
For example, concerning Moses, God said, “considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.” (Hebrews 11:26)
Moses was a member of the royal family. He had it all, and then walked off from it all for no foreseeable blessings in this life. He did it for eternal rewards.
When we make decisions that cost us in this life in order to be faithful to God, He will reward. Why does He reward? He does so not because of merit, but because He is gracious beyond measure. These are rewards of GRACE!
“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
